A mat-forming groundcover that rapidly spreads by running roots, ‘Bella Deep Rose’ selfheal is a selection of an herbaceous perennial native to Europe. In early to midsummer it produces dense, compact spikes of rosy-pink flowers above the medium-green, spear-shaped leaves. Bees and butterflies frequent the blooms.
Grow ‘Bella Deep Rose’ selfheal in sun or partial shade and moist soil. It spreads vigorously, so select a site where it has room to roam, such as an embankment or shrub border. Deadhead to prevent self-sowing in the garden and coax repeat flowering. Sometimes this perennial will wane in summer heat and act more like a biennial plant.
